Ring in NYE With Your Artist Run Center

Third Space Gallery is once again holding their annual fundraiser and New Year’s Eve party!

This year’s event will be held at the Saint John Trade and Convention Center with performances from Hampton’s the Buck Dandies and Fredericton’s the Belle Comedians. DJ Whale Skin will whip up the dance floor with an electro/funk set. The party kicks off at 9PM.

If you’re a last minute kind of gal or fella, get your tickets fast at Backstreet Records or through a Third Space volunteer. Tickets are $20 advance or 25$ at the door.

Third Space is the only artist-run centre for contemporary art in Saint John. They are committed to representing local, regional, and national professional contemporary artists.

A last date with Penny Blacks

As most of you know by now, Penny Blacks’ creator and front man, Jason Ogden, has relocated to Toronto. Tonight at may be your last chance to see Penny Blacks outside of a few 2013 dates in Ontario.

They will be joined by the Wooden Wives for the Wives’ second holiday gig this week. They tore up the Pub Down Under last Christmas Eve Eve Eve, so don’t miss this one. Show your love via dance-induced beer spillage.

Eric Ringuette and the Other are part of the new generation of up and coming Saint John musicians (read: they aren’t worried about mortgages or pushing baby carriages). Eric’s style blends north American roots music with a modern folk rock style in the tradition of Neil Young or the more contemporary Alabama Shakes when his music is filled out by “the Other”.

Drop by Peppers Pub tonight at 11PM. Cover is a mere 5$.

John Southworth at the Barrel's Head Pub

The Barrel’s Head Pub is hosting John Southworth on Monday. The eclectic singer songwriter has eleven releases to his name, including Mars Pennsylvania, Sedona Arizona, and Mama Tevatron. Suggested donation is ten dollars at the door, and the show starts at 8PM. A food bank donation is also recommended.
