I'm reading a book (well, one that isn't The Norton Shakespeare) for the first time since the beginning of the semester. Crazy. It kind of makes me want to start another book thread.

And yes, Chris, that is acceptable. Actually it can't be that tiny; I need to have a decent range, comparable to that of my bass (at least three full octaves); it needs to have workable synth sounds; and of course, I need to be able to pitch-shift it down a semitone so I don't have to play in wacky-ass keys.
