| VIXEN You raped our souls of mild-mannered man | Posted On 16-04-05 19:30:45 Subject: Sin City Ho-ly Fuck. This is the best adaptation of a comic book I have EVER seen. Fucking incredible. I can't believe how incredibly exact all of the characters were. Marv was a carbon copy. I mean, he came to life right off the fucking page. And Frodo just wishes he could move like that! Goddamnit. I really hope that they film some of the other story lines like A Dame To Kill For. That would be so fucking cool! It's not often that I get so hyped up about going to see a movie and have it surpass how great I anticipated it to be. If you haven't seen it yet, GO!! and if you have seen it what are your thoughts on this film? |

It convinced me that there are things you can do with pacing and structure in a comic book that will not work in a movie. The endless narration almost sank it, and unlike most people I know, I wasn't that impressed by the visuals (some of it actually looked cheap). Gotta go thumbs down on this one. |

It was supposed to look like a comic book, they weren't reaching for realism. I think the narration was pretty good. It made the goofy dialogue seem even sillier which was really funny. It is a very cool cheeze-fest like Night of the Living Dead. It is both a landmark and a great film. Hats off to Marv! And Captain Nazi. Best death scene ever. "Is someone going to call me a doctor?" |

As it was, sitting in the theatre, by the end of the first story it was already worth the $10. (as well as that price the next 2 times I've been to see it).
