there are three in 500 ml bottles from england.

813743
Black Wych Stout
500
$3.65

813714
Fiddler's Elbow
500
$3.65

813742
Hobgoblin
500
$3.65

813740
Old Speckled Hen
500
$2.75

I know the North End has these three. I also saw another that comes in a can from another company perhaps.

You can go to nbliquor.com and check those product numbers or just go to the new product listing to find out what stores have them. I am on the stout right now and the first two were great. I'll have to let you know about the stout.

Cool! I have fallen in love with imports as of late. Kilkenny's is probably my fav of all the imports I have tried. i will try to track down these other ones for the weekend.

Can anyone report on the taste of these beers with better descriptors than 'yummy'? I'm gonna head over to ratebeer now and look them up, I was just wondering what you folks thought of them.

All the NBLC pages that use the inventory database return a blank page (that's what they get for running thier site on windows). But at least thier site is still better off than the [url]http://www.nsliquor.ns.ca/[linkas]Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation[/ur] site, lol.

And, there's no MX record for any of the nblc's domain names either so you can't even email them to tell them thier website is broken. Hooray for government imcompentence!

I just picked up the first 3 listed in this thread though are saving them for tomorrow night.

In the meantime, Kilkenny is huggy my throat with its warm, creamy head.

i think i like the stout best. the stout was more like a porter than a stout but i was expecting that from the way it moved in the bottle and that it is also in a bottle with no contraption to thicken it up.

Cannot wait to try them tomorrow while enjoying a nice BBQ.

Well Edward, according to the back of the bottle, it's "full bodied & well balanced with a chocolate toffee malt flavor, moderate bitterness & a distinctive fruity character & ruby red glow."
I just found it to be delicious. But then why take anyone's word for it, try it yourself.

after having the red and the wheat tonight i am more a fan of them both than i was before. the wheat is actually quite good. i like them enough but if i lived in fredericton i'd probably buy local and buy picaroons - for some reason SJ does not sell picaroons in bottles. at 3.65 i think it gets up there a little too much in price compared to its competition. even at the same price i'd rather give jobs to someone in the maritimes to some bloke in england.

Thanks very much for the heads-up, Dan. I consumed the Fiddler's Elbow with my lunch today, and I have both the Stout and the Hobgobblin waiting in the fridge.

I found it to be an acceptable beverage, a little sharp, and the burnt/smokey finish was a bit overpowering.

I've had Speckled Hen before as well and found it was again, acceptable, but not something I would eagerly seek out.

I too wish Picaroons was carried here in SJ. Whenever I'm in Moncton I try to pick up a bottle or two.

I'm with Beaneater as far as my review. I've already had the Black Wych Stout and am now sipping on a Fiddler's Elbow and neither has impressed me very much. They're both kind of harsh and I think just not brewed with very good ingredients. I've got a Hobgoblin in the refrigerator but I'm not real interested in opening it. Any takers? It's yours.....

It's all kind of surprising given that they're not cheap beers - at $3.65 for a couple of cups (500 ml), you'd expect something better - like Picaroons for example....
