Penny Blacks releases their long awaited album “Harbour” tonight at the Water Street Dinner Theatre. If you don’t mind keeping company with rubber critters, you can catch a six piece Penny Blacks in an intimate, candle lit envionrment at 9PM.
Jason wears his heart on his sleeve with the help of friends and bandmates Chuck Teed, Ali Leonard, Dan Chamberlain, Erin Sharpe, Chris Braydon and Clinton Charlton. Canadians love a multi-instrumental band when the chemistry is right and the harmonies rich. This album has been a long time coming. It’s the band’s first full length release following this year’s EP, “Gold Standards”, and 2008’s “Regret, Regret”. “Harbour” offers the same beautiful heartache with evolved pop and folk melodies. Jason’s edgier style à la Hospital Grade still manages to bleed through in all the right places.
With the new tracks getting airplay on the CBC, our local loves are truly growing up.
